Mitchell M. Gubler, DDS, MS
Dr. Gubler was born and raised in Southern Utah where he attended Snow Canyon High School before receiving an Associate’s degree at Dixie State College. After serving an LDS mission to the Samoan Islands, he returned home and married his wife, Robyn. They relocated to Cedar City where he then completed his Bachelors degree at Southern Utah University.
Dr. Gubler went on to attend the prestigious University of Iowa for his dental training, receiving his DDS degree in June 2012. He then stayed in Iowa City to further his education in a Periodontics residency. Dr. Gubler performed research in the area of bone grafting prior to dental implant placement and received the first-place award at the Iowa Section of the American Association for Dental Research for his work in this area. He received his Periodontics Certificate as well as a Masters degree from the University of Iowa in 2015.

In the summer of 2015 Dr. Gubler and his family returned home to Southern Utah to build and establish a state-of-the-art facility, “Gubler Periodontics.” As a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology, he has kept up with the newest and latest advancements and technologies in Dentistry. Dr Gubler is licensed in IV sedation, ALCS certified, and has accumulated many continuing education hours.
With a merge in 2021 with his best friend from dental school, Dr. Metcalf, oral surgeon, they are growing and changing the face to “Southwest Oral Surgical Arts.” As a team, they strive to offer the best in Periodontal and Oral Surgical treatments to better the oral health of our community.
