The oral surgeons at Southwest Oral Surgical Arts (SWOSA) have extensive training and experience in administering sedation and general anesthesia.
Types of Anesthesia
There are three main types of anesthesia that we use at our practice:
Local
Local anesthetics are applied and injected to numb the area where a procedure will be performed. You will remain awake during the procedure, and your comfort during treatment is a priority.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, is administered through a nasal breathing apparatus and inhaled. It produces a mild pain-relieving and sedating effect.
IV Sedation
IV sedation allows you to rest comfortably in a semi-conscious state, unaware of the procedure. You will wake up when the sedation wears off, often with no memory of the procedure and without having felt any discomfort.
